Internal Placements Information for the 2026/27 Season
All current ALBION Boulder County Players are expected to Attend these Sessions. As we prepare for the 2026/27 Age-Group Transition, we are excited to launch our Internal Age-Group Sessions this spring at Pleasant View. These sessions provide every player the opportunity to train and compete within their new age-group structure while being evaluated by multiple directors and coaches. This comprehensive process allows us to thoughtfully place players on teams that best support their individual development while balancing the right level of challenge with the opportunity for success. Our approach aligns with new regulations while prioritizing a positive, development-focused environment. Following these internal sessions, we will continue the placement process with external tryouts in accordance with Colorado Soccer Association guidelines.

2026/27 Age Group Transition
Starting with the 2026/27 season, US Soccer and its national associations will move away from the current calendar year (Jan. to Dec.) to a season-based calendar (Aug. 01 to July 31). US Youth Soccer (USYS), US Club, USSA, AYSO, GA, EA, and MLS Next have all confirmed updates to player age group alignment. This applies to all programs other than 'MLS Next Homegrown'.
After evaluation and analysis of long-term development trends, national associations prioritized a goal of better aligning players with their school-age peers, to create a more inclusive and development-focused youth soccer environment.
How are we Preparing?
a) Our Technical Staff has been preparing to manage this change since first announced, projecting new age groups for your player based on birth date
b) Our Technical Staff has planned in-house age group 'kick arounds' for returning players to ensure a swift and accurate placement for 2026/27 to ensure continued development
c) Players entering the club will be invited to tradition tryouts with dates TBA
d) Our Platform Programs will host indepent 'ID Events' throughout the Spring Season
e) Our Goal is to ensure stability and growth for all our membership
